Your chimney tells you before it stops working.

We put a camera up the flue before the brush goes in — so you see what we see, and you keep the photographs.

No obligation. We answer the phone from 7am to 9pm, every day.

Why people call

Three things that mean stop and call somebody

Not a list of services. The three situations that put this number into a North Jersey homeowner's hand, and what each one actually is.

The inside of a soot-caked firebox before cleaning, in a North Jersey home

The first cold night

Smoke comes back into the room

A flue that drew fine last March can be lined with creosote by October. If the room fills instead of the chimney drawing, stop using it and call.

A dryer duct stub packed with lint, seen from below a basement ceiling

Three cycles to dry a load

The dryer takes longer every month

That is lint, and it is the reason dryers start fires. The run behind the wall fills up long before the trap does.

A rusted flue cap on a flat roof after a New Jersey winter

After the nor’easter

A stain spreading on the ceiling

Water gets in at the crown, the cap or the flashing. Finding which one is a twenty-minute job; ignoring it for a winter is not.

Their own photographs, not stock

This is what you are paying for

Soot and creosote out, and the masonry visible again underneath it. No staging, no stock library, no filter.

Friendly. Professional. Informative. Effective. Efficient.Cleared my flue effectively and without mess or drama.

Cheyenne Price

There was a lot of shaking in the chimney at night because the cap had come loose. They took it out and replaced it with a safe locking model, fixed the broken tile below, cleaned up the mess, and checked the…

Cody Thompson

The formation of water stains around the fireplace was prevented by repairing the flashing. The sealing seems to be well-done and secure. At last, weatherproofing feels solid. Thorough focus on detail.

What actually happens

Four steps, in this order, every time

So you know what is coming before anybody rings the bell — and so you can tell whether the visit you got was the visit you booked.

  1. We cover the room first

Drop cloths on the hearth and the floor, and the vacuum runs from the moment we open the damper.

  2. The camera goes up before the brush

You see the inside of your own flue on a screen — the liner, the smoke chamber, the joints.

  3. Then we sweep

Rods from below, cap off from above where the roof allows it, soot into the vacuum and not into your living room.

  4. You get photographs, not opinions

Before and after, plus anything we found that needs watching — with no pressure to book it today.

That is the visit, start to finish. No pressure and no obligation.

Before you call

Questions we get asked on the phone

Can you come out if I smell smoke right now?

Call us. We answer the phone from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM, every day of the week. We will tell you honestly whether it is something to stop using tonight or something that can wait for an appointment — and whether we can get somebody out to you today.

Do you work in my town?

We serve 19 towns across 8 New Jersey counties — Bergen, Passaic, Essex, Hudson, Union, Middlesex, Morris and Monmouth. If your town is not on the list, call and ask: the boundary moves with the season.

Will you make a mess?

No. The room is covered before anything is opened, the vacuum runs the whole time, and we photograph the hearth before we leave so you can see the state we handed it back in.

How often does a chimney need sweeping in New Jersey?

It depends on how you burn, not on the calendar. A wood fireplace used through a North Jersey winter usually needs a sweep once a year; burn unseasoned wood or damp it down overnight and it can be sooner. A gas insert normally needs an annual inspection rather than a sweep — the flue still corrodes, it just does not fill with creosote.

What is the difference between a Level 1 and a Level 2 inspection?

A Level 1 covers what we can reach and see: the firebox, the damper, the accessible flue, the exterior. A Level 2 adds a camera scan of the whole liner and the parts of the structure you cannot see, and it is what you want when the house is being sold, after a chimney fire, or after any event that could have moved the structure — a storm, a lightning strike, an earthquake.
